About Me

I am a native French speaker born and raised in the beautiful historical city of Namur in Belgium, currently living in the green hills of County Limerick (Ireland).

I have been fascinated with other cultures and languages from a young age, so studying translation was an obvious choice after secondary school!
After graduating, my first job was in banking, and I started working in the translation industry in 2009: first as a freelancer, then as an in-house translator. I also had the opportunity of doing an internship in a translation agency.

I went back to freelancing in 2013, and have been working for various translation agencies and direct clients since.

Degrees

I studied translation at the EII-FTI of Mons University and graduated with the following degrees:

2004: Candidatures (Belgian university degree now part of the Bachelor curriculum) in Translation Studies, German and English to French

2006: Licence (Belgian university degree now equivalent to a Master’s degree) in Translation Studies, German and English to French

Certificates

While my university’s curriculum was very focused on several types of specialized translation (financial, legal, medical, scientific, technical…), there were no courses dedicated to my current specialisation in marketing content and copywriting.

I had to learn everything on the job, by working and getting feedback from more experienced translators. I also read a lot of books and followed several trainings online.

Here's a non exhaustive list of courses I have completed:

- The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing, Google Digital Garage Certificate, 2020

- Content Marketing, Hubspot Certificate, 2021

- SEO Fundamentals, Semrush Certificate, 2022

- Digital Marketing and E-commerce, Google Professional Certificate, 2023

- UX Writing for Localization Experts, Localization Station Certificate, 2024

I am always learning...
